Sparkling turquoise waters—check, fine, gently sloping sandy beaches—check, secluded coves—check, picturesque backdrops—check: Rhodes’ beaches simply tick all the boxes for beach vacationers! In our list of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches on Rhodes, we’ll tell you which ones are especially worth seeing and best suited for families, couples, or water sports enthusiasts.

Standing on the coast of Rhodes, you’ll see the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea sparkling before you—and you’ll surely want to put on your swimsuit or swim trunks right away and dive into the crystal-clear waters. And there really are plenty of beautiful beaches on this Greek island… the only question is: Where will you find your own personal dream beach that will enrich your vacation with extraordinary moments?
Rhodes is famous for its crystal clear and mostly calm beaches. Most of the sandy beaches are on the Eastern part, on the Western side you will find pebbly beaches.
May, June, and September offer warm water, fewer crowds, and more peaceful conditions. July and August are the busiest and hottest months. The Meltemi reaches its peak in late July and August—the south and west beaches get rough then, but are ideal for wind sports.

The most beautiful beach on Rhodes’ west coast

Faliraki Beach is one of the most popular beaches on Rhodes. The soft, white-yellow sandy beach stretches for four kilometers and attracts many beachgoers. As a result, it’s always bustling here. There are also several luxury hotels located here, each with its own private section, such as the Mitsis Faliraki Beach Hotel & Spa.

Otherwise, you’ll find everything you need for a perfect day at the beach at Faliraki Beach: plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, showers, restrooms, beach bars, beach clubs, and taverns. If you like to party, you can relax here during the day and turn night into day in the town of the same name in the evening.
Especially during the peak season from July through August, many partygoers gather here in the bars, pubs, and clubs. But it’s not just partygoers who’ll be happy at Faliraki Beach—families with children can also enjoy a peaceful beach vacation on the quieter stretches of beach away from the party zones.

One of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches on Rhodes is Anthony Quinn Bay, named after the American actor Anthony Quinn and the filming location for the movie “The Guns of Navarone”.

Nature lovers in particular will find this spot to their liking, as its location between rugged cliffs and a forest offers a beautiful scenic backdrop. The sea also shimmers in shades of turquoise, making it a truly wonderful spot for snorkeling. Many people are aware of the charms of this lovely spot, which is why the beach can get a bit crowded, especially during the summer months.
My Tip: Since it’s a pebble beach, I recommend bringing water shoes. By the way, there are hiking trails that lead up to the cliffs at the edge of the bay, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay.

The beach has crystal-clear water, and a breathtaking backdrop—Tsambika Beach is one of Rhodes’ most popular beaches! Located just 15 kilometers south of Anthony Quinn Bay, this beach offers perfect conditions for families, as there are no pesky pebbles to spoil the fun in the water.
Tsambika is a sandy beach mostly for families or for those who are not annoyed by the crowds. You will find a kilometers-long beach, a lot of restaurants (mostly sandwiches, burgers, some fish, cocktails you can have here), many water-sports options – you can try out the banana ride, paddle, jet ski, parasailing etc.

Framed by rugged cliffs and the impressive Tsambika Mountain, atop which the Panagia Tsambika Monastery stands, the beach is a real sight to behold. Those who climb the 300 steps to the monastery are rewarded with a spectacular view of the Tsambika Beach coastline.

Action and relaxation combined
While the little ones splash around in the shallow water, excursion boats and water sports like jet skis or banana boats provide fun for the grown-ups. Along the beach, cozy beach bars and cantinas beckon, perfectly enhancing that vacation vibe.

Hotel Tip: Cook’s Club Kolymbia Rhodes – Set between sea and mountains on the eastern coast of Rhodes, Kolymbia is your perfect base for slow island days and off-the-beaten-path adventures. The hotel is beautiful, with a charming boutique feel while still being spacious. Everything was spotless during my stray, and the breakfast offered an excellent. Best for young couples.
Oasis Beach is a real hidden gem and is usually frequented only by locals. Behind the picturesque cove, there’s a small cave in the cliff face with a cool beach bar and laid-back music. In my opinion the most beautiful one and my favourite one.

Along the rocky cliff face surrounding the Kalithea Thermal Springs, there are a total of four small coves, with Oasis Beach arguably the most popular of them all. Sheltered by several large rocks, this spot is a little paradise for relaxation. All around the cave, cozy seating areas and spots to lounge have been carved out of the rock formations. For many guests, this is a more exciting alternative to a sun lounger.
Beach loungers are available either right on the sandy beach or on the surrounding rocks for a bit more privacy. From some of these rocks, you can step right into the water—it’s like having your own little private beach right next to your lounger.

Don’t miss the small rock church of Agios Nikolaos, which was carved directly into the rocks right next to the legendary beach bar. It houses an impressive collection of icons and is a real highlight—definitely worth a visit.

A real hidden gem on Rhodes is Red Sand Beach, also known as Kokkini Ammos. This secluded, remote beach is so well-hidden that even many locals don’t know about it! Its accessible only by boat or kayak.
Located near Agathi Beach, but there’s no direct land route to it—you can only reach this special place by boat or kayak. But that also means: no crowds, no taverns, no lounge chairs—just pure nature! Perfect for adventurers and those seeking peace and quiet

Thanks to the reddish sand and secluded location, this beach feels like a hidden oasis. If you’re coming here, be sure to come prepared: a beach umbrella, towel, and snacks are a must if you plan to stay for a while.
Tip: You can book a sea kayak adventure to get there – your perfect combination of action and relaxation!

Red Sand Beach at a Glance:

A fine, golden-shimmering sandy beach, gently sloping, crystal-clear water, and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere—Agathi Beach, also known as Golden Beach, is a true gem among Rhodes’ beaches.
Postcard perfection
Nestled between gentle dunes and fragrant thyme bushes, it offers pure relaxation. A small rock church sits picturesquely above the bay, providing the perfect photo opportunity. If you’re in the mood for a short walk, you can explore the surroundings or make a detour to Feraklos Castle on your way to the beach.
Perfect for those seeking peace and quiet and for families

Thanks to its soft sand and gentle slope into the sea, Agathi Beach in Rhodes is ideal for families with children. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and cozy daybeds ensure comfort, while small taverns serve up delicious food and drinks.
Good to know:
St. Pauls Bay, located a little further south of Lindos, enchants visitors with its fine sandy beach, shimmering turquoise sea, and a small chapel overlooking the bay—a highly sought-after wedding venue. No wonder, then, that this bay is definitely one of the most picturesque and romantic beaches on Rhodes.
You can stroll along the nearby promenade and stop for a bite to eat at a tavern. But watch out for the prices on the menu—here, you’re paying for the prime location!
My Tip: Get there early! The appeal draws crowds, which is why the rental umbrellas and lounge chairs tend to run out quickly.

This quiet pebble beach is a true hidden gem on Rhodes, visited by only a few tourists. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat where you can unwind, you’ve come to the right place! The 5-kilometer-long stretch is known for its pristine appearance and undeveloped coastline—a true dream beach for anyone who loves to relax in harmony with nature.
The drive to Fourni Beach, located at the cape of the same name in the southwest of Rhodes, is an adventure. The road winds through numerous hairpin turns, but the reward for this adventurous drive is a peaceful retreat away from mass tourism. Fourni Beach is often described as the most romantic beach on the island—and for good reason!
Here you will find spectacular location and breathtaking scenery. The steep cliffs and the secluded location amid rugged rocks create an indescribably beautiful atmosphere. There are hardly any crowds here, but plenty of peace and quiet and a private, intimate atmosphere—ideal for a relaxing day. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can climb the rocks at Fourni Beach and reach Koustik Beach across the way—a hidden little paradise! Fourni Beach surprises visitors with the finest sand and a clear, deep-blue sea that shimmers in beautiful shades of turquoise. The water is shallow, so you can enjoy it to the fullest and let the waves wash over your feet.
My insider tip for explorers
The rocky promontory jutting prominently into the water holds a secret: burial chambers and caves carved into the rocks! If you’re looking for adventure, you can venture up the climb—but be careful! Sturdy footwear and sure footing are absolutely essential here to safely make your way back down.

This long, undeveloped stretch of beach in the far southeast is a real hidden gem and one of my personal favorites on Rhodes. A beautiful golden sandy beach meets crystal-clear water here.
Agios Georgios Beach is rather unspoiled with no facilities. For a day at the beach, be sure to pack a beach umbrella along with drinks and snacks

You can access the beach via a gravel road from Agios Pavlos toward the Agios Georgios Chapel. In front of the dunes, you will find small parking where you can park your car.
Tip: About 5 km from Agios Georgios Beach, in Agios Pavlos, lies the Café Kolonie San Marco. Enjoy some delicious homemade snacks here in an absolutely idyllic atmosphere.
The island’s surfing mecca is located on the southern tip of Rhodes island. Kiters and windsurfers love this place as it has ideal conditions for all kind of water sports.

Prasonisi is easy to find, you will see signs an the way and the quality of the street is also good to drive down there. Stop at some view points before you head down to the beach, you can take some amazing pictures. At the beach you can find 2 restaurants, I ate there many times, food was delicious. The beach is where the Aegean and the Mediterranean Seas meet.

During peak season, Prasonisi Beach gets very crowded. Depending on the tide, you can wade over to the island across the way. Watch out for the currents in the water—they’re very strong here, as this is where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean.
You definitely shouldn’t miss Prasonisi during your vacation on Rhodes. If you find it too crowded, look for one of the unspoiled stretches of beach between Prasonisi and Agios Georgios Beach.
Do you still have time and want to see more beaches in Rhodes? Here’s a list of other beaches you can explore.
Among the most popular beaches are Tsambika, Faliraki, Lindos Beach, and the picturesque Anthony Quinn Bay.
Stegna Beach, Agathi Beach, and Agios Georgios Beach have shallow waters and sandy shores. St. Paul’s Bay in Lindos is also ideal.
The east coast between Faliraki and Lindos gets very crowded during peak season in July and August. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, I recommend visiting Afandou, Grand Blue Beach, the Red Sand Beaches, or the south coast. Visit popular is best beaches early in the morning or during the off-season. The further south you go, the more secluded it gets!
The most beautiful sandy beaches are on the east coast: Tsambika, Stegna, Agathi, Glystra, and St. Paul’s Bay in Lindos. In the south you can find the beaches of Agios Georgios and Prasonisi.
All beaches on Rhodes are open year-round. However, during the off-season, the beach bars on Rhodes are often closed and there are no lounge chairs available.
